Volunteer Program

Lake Humane Society recognizes the importance of committed volunteers dedicated to the care and placement of the unwanted, injured, abandoned, and abused animals of Lake County. Thank you for your interest in serving as a volunteer.

The volunteers of Lake Humane Society support our shelter staff in the operation and care of the shelter facility and the homeless animals awaiting adoption. Volunteers also participate in special events, mobile adoptions, and fundraisers.

If you are at least 16 years of age and interested in becoming a volunteer at our shelter, please take the time to fill out the Volunteer Application and return it to our shelter. You will then be contacted by our Volunteer Coordinator to set up a volunteer orientation. If you have any questions, please e-mail our Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@lakehumane.org.
