Volunteer Program

Volunteers are a crucial part of any humane society and our shelter is no exception.  We rely on them to help us out with all of our day-to-day tasks, as well as acting as ambassadors for Lake Humane Society.  Volunteers help with duties such as cage cleaning, animal TLC, greeting visitors, special events, off-site adoption, fundraising, office work, and repairs around the shelter.  We have all sorts of exciting volunteer opportunities and encourage you to get involved!

To begin, just stop by the shelter and pick up a volunteer application or download one below. Our volunteer coordinator will contact you to schedule an orientation.   Some volunteer duties require special training classes to ensure your safety as well as the safety of the animals, staff, other volunteers, and general public.  These classes will be scheduled after you attend orientation.   As a volunteer, you are a valuable asset to our organization and to the many animals which need loving homes.
