Stay Safe Bite Prevention Program

Community education programs focus on building a strong and safe bond between animals and people within our community. Bite safety programs are an important function for animal shelters.  Children have a natural affinity for animals. Learning to approach an unfamiliar animal, and learning to ask prior to petting an animal, can greatly reduce bites which are traumatic to the child as well as animals being surrendered to a shelter because of a negative incident with a child. Two certified bite prevention programs form the structure of the ‘Stay Safe’ program.

Children’s Education Programs will be free for all Lake County Residents. Outside of Lake County, a $35.00 fee will be required.
