Nemo, a 2-year-old Whippet mix, came to us late October 2018 and quickly captured the hearts of LHS staff members and volunteers. He was surrendered to us after he broke his front legs and his former owner was not able to provide him with the proper medical care he desperately needed. Nemo required lots of love and a safe foster home that could take care of him before his surgery and all throughout his recovery.
Our foster coordinator put out a request for a long-medical foster to watch over Nemo. Nina and Doug quickly agreed to foster Nemo and give him the care he needed. With the help of our wonderful supporters and the Angel Fund, we were able to provide Nemo with the surgery he required in order to be able to walk again!
In the process of fostering Nemo, Nina and Doug fell in love with him. When Nemo got the clear bill of health from our veterinarian, Nina and Doug told us they couldn’t imagine their life without him! He became an official member of their family and is living a happy and healthy life in his forever home.
